Patient safety, dignity, and confidentiality are at the core of everything we do. Our specialized transport teams are trained to support individuals experiencing Behavioral health crises with professionalism, compassion, and respect. From secure vehicles to carefully planned transfers, we ensure every patient is protected throughout their journey—providing a calm, controlled environment that prioritizes well-being while connecting them to the care they need.
HRT was established in August 2018 after recognizing a critical need for non-emergency behavioral health transportation. The founder identified that patients were often left waiting in emergency rooms for extended periods due to a lack of transportation to receiving facilities. HRT’s first contract was secured with Horizon Health.
In early 2019, the company experienced rapid growth, securing multiple additional contracts in a short period of time. I joined HRT as its first full-time employee in March 2019, and as demand increased, the team expanded accordingly.
Later that year, HRT partnered with Carle BroMenn Medical Center and established a new hub in Bloomington, Illinois. Today, HRT has grown to a team of 17 employees and serves more than 30 contracted hospitals.
